Greg's First Edge is the first installment in the Edgeverse series. It was written by u/Advertisingreddit.
Plot[]
After discovering the concept of edging via Rodrick and The Internet, Greg becomes addicted. Per Rodrick's request, he edges in the back of his class at school but almost finishes upon seeing Holly Hills before he is stopped by his teacher. At home, Frank reveals to him that both he and Rodrick have been edging their entire lives and congratulates Greg on joining them. Due to edging, Greg's social life at school greatly improves.
Greg is abruptly kidnapped from his home by members of The Worldwide Edging Society, which is made up of most people in the town. Though Greg doesn't know who runs it, he is invited to join if he passes some edging tests. After successfully edging on a plane, Greg is partnered with Chirag, who is designated the lowest level of the society, for a dual edging session but they both finish accidentally. After debating if they should lie to the WES or not, they are held by gunpoint by some gang members who, believing them to be rival gang members, shoot and kill Chirag to send a message before letting Greg go.
The WES allows Greg to proceed to the next level of the test due to Chirag's death and Greg overheads Alex Aruda and Leland planning to make him finish to fail the test. Angered, Greg takes a gun he stole from the gang members and kills both Alex and Leland. Greg makes his way through the WES facility as he is chased by goons, killing several along the way before he finds Rowley strapped to a torture machine.
The leader arrives, revealing himself to be Chirag who faked his death; he introduces Greg to the previous line of leaders, revealed to be Rodrick, Frank, and Grandpa. Chirag activates the torture machine but is shot and killed by Greg, who saves Rowley after gunning down Rodrick, Frank, and Grandpa. Greg manages to perform surgery on Rowley and kills Manny upon seeing him edge. Greg contemplates suicide but is abducted by the members of the North Nutter Nation, the sworn enemy of the WES, who ask Greg to join them; Greg agrees while secretly planning to take them down from the inside.
